Throughout his career, Mr. Rand has built and managed real estate investment platforms focused on acquiring, financing, operating, restructuring, and disposing of real estate assets across multiple market cycles. His experience includes direct real estate ownership, private lending, note acquisitions, distressed debt, REO assets, asset servicing, and opportunistic real estate investments throughout Florida and across the United States.

Since its founding in 2008, Prime Asset Fund has acquired, managed, serviced, or liquidated more than 22,000 assets, including real estate-owned properties and non-performing loans, across all 50 states. The platform has managed more than 22,000 assets, including real estate and non-performing note investments on behalf of institutional investors, private equity firms, hedge funds, publicly traded real estate investment companies, and other investment partners.

Before founding Prime Asset Fund, Jamie owned The Foreclosure Hotsheet, a widely recognized source of residential foreclosure information in the Tampa Bay region, and he also invested in title companies and public and private businesses in real estate, finance, title, and related service industries.

In the early 2000s, Mr. Rand co-founded Rent to Own, Inc. and affiliated companies, which became significant purchasers and sellers of foreclosed and distressed residential properties in Florida. In that role, he oversaw all major aspects of the business, including property acquisition, renovation, leasing, management, financing, and disposition.

Through his family trust and affiliated investment vehicles, Jamie continues to invest in and originate real estate loans, acquire and restructure distressed real estate assets, and pursue commercial and residential real estate opportunities nationwide.

Jamie’s current investment focus includes distressed debt, real estate-backed lending, adaptive reuse, commercial real estate repositioning, and the acquisition and revitalization of underutilized real estate assets. His work includes projects in Florida, Minnesota, and Buffalo, including downtown St. Paul, where he is involved in efforts to preserve, reposition, and reactivate historic commercial buildings for long-term community and economic benefit.

    First National Bank

A 32-story art deco skyscraper occupying a full city block on Minnesota Street, the First National Bank Building is one of downtown St. Paul's most recognized landmarks, known far and wide for its illuminated "1st" sign. Through the Downtown Revival Trust, Jamie Rand acquired the building in 2026 with a commitment to reverse years of deferred maintenance, relight the iconic sign, and restore the property as a thriving commercial office building. It's a cornerstone of his broader effort to reinvest in and reactivate historic downtown St. Paul real estate.

    Great Northern Building

Located at 180 Fifth Street East, the Great Northern Building traces its roots to the railroad legacy of James J. Hill. Jamie Rand acquired the property as part of his investment in downtown St. Paul, where he now owns two of the largest buildings in the city's core. His approach pairs patient capital with thoughtful, long-term management, preserving the building's historic character while repositioning it for lasting commercial and community value.
